Praying for the work of Habitat for Humanity Ghana (HFHG)

Volunteering with the Habitat program either as:

  • an Individual Volunteer
  • a Corporate Partner
  • a member of A Global Village Team
  • as a member of an International Volunteer Programme.

  • Lydia Asiedu

Lydia Asiedu (40) has one child, Kofi Asiedu (22), named after his grandfather. She used to work in a brewery. Now she sells rice in the next town and earns an income of ˘80,000 to ˘100,000.

She heard about Habitat through a friend when she was complaining about her rental situation in which she lived with 10 people and used a shared toilet and bath. She couldn’t share a room with her son, so he was also renting in a nearby village.

Her Habitat home has given her privacy and allowed her to do things the way she wants to do them. If not for Habitat she would have returned to her hometown or migrated to Accra with her father, but now she plans to live in her Habitat home forever. She has told other people about Habitat for Humanity and is willing to give land for future projects.
