  • Godson Nyame

Godson NyameThey are engaged in subsistence farming and cultivate cocoa, palm, corn and plantain. This family owns the first building that was constructed by the Mim community with funds solely raised from the community.

"I have a family of eight and so it is a big relief to own my own house with more space, our own bathroom and our own toilet. We now have the peace of mind to raise our children for a better future", says Godson. The family used to rent a room in a family house that did not belong to his extended family. They had no toilet facilities and shared a bathroom with six other families. Godson adds that, "due to the seriousness of our need, the local Habitat committee offered the first house to us when we applied for it. We feel so privileged to be living in this house because it was built with so much sacrifice and hope by the whole community."
