Individual Volunteer

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.

Habitat for Humanity Ghana appreciates the contributions of individual local and international volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to throw in their skills and experiences in the fight against poverty housing by working in the National or Regional Offices or at whichever affiliate needs the most help, taking into consideration your interests, your expertise, where you might like to work, etc. It can be very exciting work ….

“In my efforts to run away from “Corporate America”, my main objective was to do something of significance professionally. There are times when you get stuck behind all the numbers, budgets and mortgages, and lose sight of how crucial it is to get close to the people you work for. Habitat provided me with the opportunity to do something of significance in this direction.”Oana Amaria, USA

“My experience with HFHG made my vacation a fruitful one in that I acquired skills in article writing and resource management, just to mention a few. I also learnt firsthand what goes on behind the scenes during event organisation as well as the ups and downs of institutions.I guess I can say that I’ll take what I’ve acquired here and put it to use in the future in whatever way I can.”Linda Adu, Student KNUST, Ghana

“As a student in my final year at New York University, I went to Ghana to take classes and volunteer at a local organization. When I started at HFHG, I expected my experience to be similar to the ordinary internship in the United States, consisting of filing, copying, and running errands, but it was anything but that. As an intern, I did so many things that were beneficial for my work and personal experience in Ghana, especially as a graduating student.”Andrea Papitto, California, USA
